Harlan is 7-2 against Stevens since December of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Harlan Hawks will be playing at home against the Stevens Falcons at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Harlan is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Stevens in Texas (Harlan is ranked 140th, while Stevens is ranked 591st).
Harlan can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Warren with a sharp 64-43 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Harlan has posted since December 19, 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Harlan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Loghan Hamilton, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruhama Salyers, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Stevens suffered their biggest loss since November 28, 2023 on Tuesday. They were the victim of a tough 57-36 defeat at the hands of Jay. Stevens was down 45-22 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Despite the loss, Stevens saw an underclassman step up: Andra Stokes scored 11 points.
Harlan has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season. As for Stevens, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-17.
