It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Trumbull ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the New Canaan Rams 3-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Trumbull's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for New Canaan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-11.

Coincidentally, Trumbull and New Canaan will both be playing Ridgefield the next time they take the field. The Eagles will head out to face the Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Rams will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
