Clovis extended their losing streak  to 15  on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-21 in the process. They came up short against  the Carlsbad Cavemen/Cavegirls, falling  26-3. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Cavemen/Cavegirls this season,  with their most recent  defeat being a  19-0  loss  on Friday.
As for Carlsbad, the  victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 16-6. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.
For Carlsbad's part,  Aubrey Hernandez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  3.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits (and not a single walk). Hernandez has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances with two  runs and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Allyson Madrid was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one  home run, four  runs,  and five  RBI. Those  four  hits gave  her a new career-high.  Faith Rivera was another key player,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with five  runs, four  RBI,  and two  doubles.
