The Rock Lions pushed their score all the way to 63 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to P.K. Yonge 68-63. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (55), The Rock still had to take the loss.
P.K. Yonge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lee Strong out in front who scored ten points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Joel Washington, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
The Rock has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for P.K. Yonge, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
The Rock will take on United Faith Christian Academy in a holiday battle at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Hopefully United Faith Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Saturday. P.K. Yonge won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Santa Fe at 7:00 p.m. on December 16th. Santa Fe has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 24.
