Baseball Recap: Northwest Christian Has No Trouble Against Raymond/South Bend

The Northwest Christian Wolverines got the win against the Raymond/South Bend Ravens on Friday by a conclusive 17-5. That's two games straight that the Wolverines have won by exactly 12 runs.

Northwest Christian got a massive performance out of Parker Cox, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Cox is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played dating back to last season. Jack Vahey was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Northwest Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Raymond/South Bend only posted an OBP of .400.

Northwest Christian has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs this season. As for Raymond/South Bend, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Northwest Christian will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Orofino at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
