Floyd Central has enjoyed a five-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will  face off against the Silver Creek Dragons at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
 On Monday, Floyd Central made easy work of Lanesville  and carried off  a  9-2 win. That's two games straight that Floyd Central has won by  exactly seven  runs.
 Floyd Central let  Maddie Luckhardt and  Addy Ware loose on the outfield. Luckhardt  scored a  run while going 2-for-4, while  Ware  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-4. Ware is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  stolen  at least one in the last six games she's  played.
 Meanwhile, Silver Creek entered their tilt with Salem with seven consecutive wins  but they'll enter their next game with eight. They put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp  15-1 victory on Thursday.
  Kennedy Caudill and  Tessa Gibson made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing,  Caudill   struck out eight batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned run off   one  hit (and not a single walk). Meanwhile,  Gibson   pitched  an inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. At the plate,  Caudill  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with three  RBI and a  double, while  Gibson  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Reese Decker, who  scored three  runs while going 2-for-2.  Kaitlyn Whitlock was another key contributor,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
 Floyd Central pushed their record up to 26-4 with that  win, which was their 11th straight  at home dating back to last season. As for Silver Creek, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 17 of their last 18 matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record  this season.
 Floyd Central beat Silver Creek 5-0  in their previous meeting  back in May of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Floyd Central since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
