The Bordentown Scotties entered their tilt with Doane Academy with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Bordentown strolled past the with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 62-47. Bordentown pushed the score to 52-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the cut but never quite recovered from.
Bordentown had a senior duo take command as Eunmin Choi dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds and Elijah Florence scored 11 points along with five rebounds. It was the first time this season that Choi pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Myles Hansford, who scored five points along with two steals.
Doane Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hiatt Smith, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds. Smith continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Michael Balogun was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Bordentown is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Doane Academy, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bordentown will take on the Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Doane Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against the Blue Devils at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Burlington City is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
