The Basic Wolves scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Southeast Career Tech 75-18 on the road. That looming 75-18 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Basic yet this season.
Leading Basic to victory were Kenny Williams and Saiah Minnis. Williams scored 12 points, while Minnis scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Minnis pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Alvonte' Nelson, who scored ten points.
Southeast Career Tech's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Joseph Grant, who scored seven points, and Diego Galarza who scored five points.
Basic's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Southeast Career Tech, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Basic won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Franklin at 9:00 a.m. on December 23rd. Franklin will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 309th in Washington, while Basic is ranked 67th in Nevada). Southeast Career Tech will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Canyon Springs at 6:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Hopefully Canyon Springs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday.
