Moody came tearing into Wednesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Vestavia Hills Rebels as they made off with a 10-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won 12 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Lacey Nichols, who scored two runs while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Kendall Trimm was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Moody pushed their record up to 20-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Vestavia Hills, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13-1 record this season.

Moody will venture away from home to take on Leeds at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vestavia Hills, they will welcome Oak Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
