Meanwhile, St. Mary's Academy was the victim of a tough 47-24 loss at the hands of Colorado Academy on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, St. Mary's Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while Colorado Academy is ranked 42nd).
Despite the loss, St. Mary's Academy got a solid performance out of Emily Rodriguez, who scored seven points along with 13 rebounds and eight blocks. Rodriguez is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aleena Nauman, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and six steals.
The Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for St. Mary's Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-7.
