Trillium Academy waltzed into their contest Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They rang in the new year with a 59-49 victory over Erie-Mason. Given Trillium Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Erie-Mason is ranked 525th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Trillium Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Keymarryon Fishburn led the charge by dropping a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Fishburn has scored at least 25% of Trillium Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylin Bradford, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Trillium Academy pushed their record up to 8-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.6 points per game. As for Erie-Mason, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Trillium Academy will head out on the road to face off against Southfield Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Erie-Mason, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lenawee Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lenawee Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 653 points over their last nine matchups.
