The Toombs County Bulldogs will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Windsor Forest Knights at 7:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Toombs County sitting on 11 straight victories and the Knights on four.
In what's become a running theme this season, Toombs County gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They breezed by Tattnall County at home to the tune of 63-34. Given Toombs County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Warriors are ranked 395th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Toombs County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dominic Eason, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jesus Quintero, who scored 21 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, even though Pierce County scored an imposing 58 points on Friday, Windsor Forest still came out on top. Windsor Forest took their game against the Bears 66-58.
Toombs County pushed their record up to 20-2 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38.2 points. As for Windsor Forest, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.
Toombs County strolled past the Knights when the teams last played back in January by a score of 63-46. Will Toombs County repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
