The Clearview Clippers lost against the Keystone Wildcats back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Clearview was outmatched by Keystone on the road and fell 58-17. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Clearview has scored all season.
Keystone's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Vivian Cassell, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Cassell is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Jessica Forthofer was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Clearview's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.6 points per game. As for Keystone, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clearview will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Oberlin at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Oberlin comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Keystone will finish 2023 at home by hosting Cuyahoga Heights at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
