Crossroads recap October 22, 2013
Van Horn led Crossroads in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on Central. Domonique Winston ran for 40 yards during the win.
Joey Grissom was a passing and rushing force as Sherwood lost to Adrian.
Grissom was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 82 yards on 5 carries as the Marksmen beat the Blue Eagles. Teammate Jakob Burnworth added to the ground attack by rushing for 80 yards.
On the heels of Anthony Winningham and J.j. Rivers, Van Horn has had great success on offense. Winningham leads the league in passing with 867 yards, while Rivers has rushed for 1,092 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is Sherwood's Hunter Davis, with 326 yards on 15 catches.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Butler takes on Summit Christian Academy. At the moment, the Bears are in third, while the Lee's Summit Community Ch are in second.
Jeff Tolbert's team made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,170 from 7,530. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 49-0 victory over Central last week.
