Marbury is 9-1 against Autaugaville since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Marbury Bulldogs on the road again and play against the Autaugaville Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully Marbury focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
Chilton County typically has all the answers at home, but Marbury proved too difficult a challenge. They snuck past the Tigers with a 46-41 win. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 21 to 7 on the offensive boards, as Marbury did.
Marbury got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Addyson Jarman out in front who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jarman has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Gabrielle Brown, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Autaugaville entered their tilt with Central with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Autaugaville came out on top against Central by a score of 34-21 on Tuesday.
Marbury is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Autaugaville, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Everything came up roses for Marbury against Autaugaville when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 68-35 victory. With Marbury ahead 49-16 at the half, the game was all but over already.
