The Caliche Buffaloes have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost to Wray on the road by a decisive 59-43 margin on Thursday. Caliche lost against Wray in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 64-19 score last time.
Caliche lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Karsyn Huss, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Ava Hernandez, who scored 12 points.
Caliche's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3. As for Wray, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Caliche will take on Merino at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Merino is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Wray, they will head out on the road to square off against Holyoke at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Holyoke focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Friday.
