Grafton is 10-0 against Bruton since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Grafton Clippers will look to defend their home court against the Bruton Panthers at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Grafton's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Bruton has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Grafton put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 60-29 win over Poquoson at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Grafton has posted since December 12, 2023.
Grafton found their leader in underclassman Taylor Ragland, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Ragland is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Alonni Wells was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight assists and five steals.
Meanwhile, Bruton ended up a good deal behind Warhill on Thursday and lost 49-33. While losing is never fun, Bruton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while Warhill is ranked 140th).
Grafton's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Bruton, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
Grafton strolled past Bruton in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 64-48. Will Grafton repeat their success, or does Bruton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
