The Ayersville Pilots had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.4 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They came out on top against Stryker by a score of 37-24. Given Ayersville's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Stryker is ranked 525th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ayersville was led to victory by Taylor Craft and Ally Schindler. Craft scored six points along with ten rebounds and five blocks, while Schindler scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Schindler is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendra Waldron, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Ayersville pushed their record up to 19-1 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Stryker, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
Ayersville will head out on the road to take on Continental at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Continental comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last nine games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Stryker, they will be playing at home against Tinora at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
