Even though the Jackson Vikings scored an imposing 68 points on Monday, the Norrix Knights still came out on top. Norrix escaped with a win against Jackson by the margin of a single free throw, 69-68. The win was all the more spectacular given Norrix's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 318th, while Jackson is ranked 101st).
When it comes to explaining why Jackson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Koronnis Davis. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points. Tristen Cawthon was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
The win makes it two in a row for Norrix and bumps their season record up to 5-6. As for Jackson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-3.
Norrix will be playing in front of their home fans against Gull Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jackson, they will head out on the road to challenge Pinckney at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pinckney is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
