Brookstone won the last time they faced Tattnall Square Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Cougars simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Trojans 49-6. The Cougars pushed the score to 42-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Trojans had no chance of recovering from.
Leading Brookstone to victory were Dillon Terry and Broughton Branch. Terry rushed for 80 yards and two scores on only five carries, while Branch threw for 201 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 passes. A healthy portion of Branch's aerial production (81 yards to be exact) went to Sammie Laboy, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 19 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Terry, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Brookstone has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brookstone is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Valwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Tattnall Square Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against St. Anne-Pacelli at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
