You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Brookstone on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Tattnall Square Academy Trojans out of the water with a 49-6 final score. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 21-0.
Leading Brookstone to victory were Dillon Terry and Broughton Branch. Terry rushed for 80 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries, while Branch threw for 201 yards and two TDs on only 13 passes. A healthy portion of Branch's aerial production (81 yards to be exact) went to Sammie Laboy, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 19 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Terry, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Brookstone has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brookstone will challenge Valwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Tattnall Square Academy, they will square off against St. Anne-Pacelli at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
