After three games on the road, Llano is heading back home. They will take on the Blanco Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Llano strolled past Ingram Moore with points to spare, taking the game 60-45. Given Llano's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 413th, while Ingram Moore is ranked 932nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Llano got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Fitz Kennedy out in front who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie White, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Blanco had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Brady 48-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Blanco has posted yet this season.
Llano is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. As for Blanco, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.
Llano and Blanco were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but Llano came up empty-handed after a 50-49 loss. Can Llano avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
