Softball Recap: Midway Extends Winning Streak to Three

Midway won against La Monte on Saturday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. Midway beat the Smithton Tigers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-8. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Midway pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Smithton, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Midway will challenge Northeast Vernon County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Smithton, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 10-7 victory against Orrick on the 29th.
