The Tornillo Coyotes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 63-38 loss at the hands of Kermit. Tornillo was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Kermit apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Kermit got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Diego Juarez out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Juarez is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Zeke Espino was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Tornillo bumped their record down to 2-9 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Kermit, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-9.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Alpine the next time they take the court. Tornillo will host Alpine at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, while Kermit will head out to face them at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
