The Saguaro Sabercats will be playing at home against the Pinnacle Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, Saguaro faced Salpointe Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Saguaro fell 21-14 to Salpointe Catholic. Saguaro has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jaedon Matthews, who gained 120 total yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 37 points the game before, Pinnacle were a bit more limited in their match on Friday. Their rough 31-6 defeat to Centennial might stick with them for a while. Pinnacle was down 31-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Saguaro has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Pinnacle, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Saguaro took their win against Pinnacle in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 by a conclusive 35-14. Will Saguaro repeat their success, or does Pinnacle have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
