State College is 8-2 against Altoona since February of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The State College Little Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Altoona Mountain Lions at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Saturday, State College came up short against Spring-Ford and fell 52-44.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Luke Torbic, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Xion Nichols, who scored 11 points along with 4 steals.
Meanwhile, Altoona's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a 48-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hollidaysburg. While losing is never fun, Altoona can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 378th, while Hollidaysburg is ranked 134th).
State College's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Altoona, the last time they won on the road was back last Saturday. Having now lost three straight away games, they've bumped their record down to 0-3.
State College took their win against Altoona when the teams last played back in February by a conclusive 69-49. Does State College have another victory up their sleeve, or will Altoona turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
