San Manuel is 0-3 against Mogollon since April of 2025 but things could change on Friday. The Miners will head out to challenge the Mustangs at 2:00 p.m. San Manuel is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
San Manuel was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against St. Johns on Saturday. The Miners were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Redskins. The result was nothing new for the Miners, who have now won four matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Daniel Najera, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Tanner Decker, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Meanwhile, Mogollon entered their tilt with St. David on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Tigers.
Quinn Tenney made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Tenney was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Brody Porter was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.
San Manuel's record is now 8-5. As for Mogollon, their record now sits at 8-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. San Manuel has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Mogollon struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
San Manuel suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Mogollon in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Miners avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
