Glascock County has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. Having just played yesterday, they will head out on the road to face off against the Twiggs County Cobras at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th.
On Thursday, Glascock County came up short against Edmund Burke Academy and fell 48-41. Glascock County has not had much luck with Edmund Burke Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, Twiggs County was able to grind out a solid victory over Georgia Military College on Tuesday, taking the game 49-37. The victory was just what Twiggs County needed coming off of a 68-37 defeat in their prior game.
Tykerrion Williams was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Twiggs County's points. Another player making a difference was Armarion Downing, who scored 11 points.
Glascock County bumped their record down to 0-13 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Twiggs County, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.
Glascock County was taken down by Twiggs County 68-31 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Glascock County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
