Stone (Wiggins, Miss.) beat
George County (Lucedale, Miss.) 20-3.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Justin Smith in the second quarter, the Tomcats led 6-0 at the half.
Stone grew its lead to 10 points entering the fourth quarter. SHS's lone score in the quarter came on a Smith touchdown run.
Coming into the game the Wiggins school had allowed 25.2 points per game this year.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 13-7 win for the Tomcats.
The loss comes after George County defeated Long Beach 43-0 last week.
Stone (3-3) goes up against Long Beach in a 5A Region 4 game matchup next week, while George County (1-5) locks horns with West Harrison also in a 5A Region 4 game.
