2A District 3 recap Nov. 7, 2012
Warner Christian extended the longest winning streak in 2A District 3 this week by beating Florida Air Academy, 48-12. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Trinity Christian Academy took down St. John Lutheran 61-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
St. Edward's's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Carson Proctor threw for 203 and four touchdowns and Aaron Mcgee had 107 yards receiving. On the ground Devon Kahle chipped in 130 yards. Bobby Barker helped St. Edward's' passing attack out by catching two balls for 52 yards.
C.J. Williams made the biggest impact on defense this week as Father Lopez lost to the Pirates. The defensive lineman racked up one sack.
Father Lopez's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Green Wave feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Joe Boden has thrown for 933 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Isadore Wood has 23 catches for 318 yards. Boden also leads the league in rushing with 879 yards.
St. Edward's made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,981 from 7,776. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 48-0 victory over the Green Wave last week.
