Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up eight more assists than your opponent, a fact the Palmer Ridge Bears proved on Thursday. They strolled past Discovery Canyon with points to spare, taking the game 47-30. The win made it back-to-back wins for Palmer Ridge.
Leading Palmer Ridge to victory were Annaliese Bossinger and Kylie Mayer. Bossinger scored six points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Mayer scored 14 points along with four steals. Delanie Mcmullen was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
Discovery Canyon's loss came despite strong showings from Taylor Mccann and Natalie Neuhaus. Mccann scored six points along with five steals, while Neuhaus scored 12 points along with two steals. Mccann is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Palmer Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Discovery Canyon, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palmer Ridge will take on Pueblo County at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Pueblo County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Thursday. As for Discovery Canyon, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Air Academy at 6:00 p.m.
