Forge Christian and Manual are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The Forge Christian Fury on the road again on Thursday and play against the Manual Thunderbolts at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Forge Christian faced Colorado Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Forge Christian had just enough and edged Colorado Academy out 57-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Forge Christian has posted yet this season.
Forge Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Levi Clark led the charge by scoring 21 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Clark has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Hovis, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Manual waltzed into their matchup on Friday with five straight wins but they left with six. They came out on top against Denver West by a score of 70-58.
Forge Christian pushed their record up to 8-1 with that win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.8 points per game. As for Manual, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
Forge Christian took their victory against Manual in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 71-50. Does Forge Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Manual turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
