Football Recap: Laurel Piles Up the Points Against Northgate

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Laurel). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 50-0 victory over the Northgate Flames. The win continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Flames: they've now won six in a row.

Laurel's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kolton Carlson, who rushed for 103 yards on only six carries. The Spartans also got a significant boost from Nathan Hill, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 85 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Laurel was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 368 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Laurel didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Mason Moser, Tony Geiwitz, and Ashton Maine picked up one apiece.

Laurel's record now sits at 5-1. As for Northgate, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
