Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sachse). Everything went their way against the South Garland Titans on Monday as Sachse made off with a 23-2 victory. The Mustangs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Titans, too.
Logan Schultz made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Sachse got a massive performance out of Zoe Worley, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Worley has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Robinson, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Sachse was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. They are 8-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Sachse is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.1 runs over those games. South Garland is on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Coincidentally, Sachse and South Garland will both be playing Naaman Forest the next time they take the field. Sachse will head out to face Naaman Forest at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while South Garland will host them at 6:30 p.m. on the 25th.
