Troy had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.4 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 48-31 victory over the Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] Cyclones. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while the Cyclones are ranked 244th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Troy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Harper Whetstine led the charge by putting up 15 points and three steals. Whetstine's morning made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Gracie Grable was another key player, scoring 13 points and three steals.

Troy pushed their record up to 16-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.9 points over those games. As for Riverside [Wathena/Elwood], their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
