The Masuk Panthers''s victory on Friday was just another feather in their cap since they won the last time they played, too. They blew past Joel Barlow, posting a 49-14 win at home. The result was nothing new for Masuk, who have now won three matches by 23 points or more so far this season.
Jason Champagne went supernova for Masuk, rushing for 89 yards and six touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of aaron champagne, who threw for 332 yards while picking up 12.8 yards per attempt.
Although Joel Barlow took the loss, they still got scores from Scott Romano and Jack Gilbert.
Masuk has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in four of their first five matchups, giving them a 4-1 record. As for Joel Barlow, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Masuk will play host again and welcome Pomperaug, where kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Joel Barlow, they will be playing at home against Notre Dame Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Notre Dame Catholic is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
