This season hasn't been kind to The Keller Central Chargers, who are still winless after their eighth contest. They were beaten by Byron Nelson 56-10 on Thursday. Keller Central was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-0.
Landon Smith and Dylan Mcafee, Keller Central certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Smith threw for 113 yards and a touchdown, while Mcafee rushed for 57 yards.
Keller Central's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 6-2 Keller (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 65.6% over those games). As for Byron Nelson, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Keller Central will head out on the road to face off against Fossil Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fossil Ridge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Keller Central in Texas (Fossil Ridge is ranked 333rd, while Keller Central is ranked 669th). As for Byron Nelson, they will be playing at home against Southlake Carroll at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Southlake Carroll is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
