While it was all tied up 25-25 at halftime, the Pomona Red Devils were not quite the Western Christian Fighting Lancers's equal in the second half on Wednesday. Pomona fell to Western Christian 59-54. Pomona lost against Western Christian in their previous head to head last Friday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 61-43 score last time.
Pomona's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dario Shields, who scored 21 points. Another player making a difference was Joe Steele, who scored 16 points.
Dj Harris continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Western Christian, scoring 18 points. Brian Wallace was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Pomona has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Western Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.
Pomona will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Don Lugo at 5:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Western Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Chino Hills at 8:00 p.m. on December 28th. Chino Hills has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 931 points over their last 12 matches.
