The Northglenn Norsemen suffered their closest defeat since November 27, 2023 on Thursday. They fell just short of Westminster by a score of 46-43. Northglenn was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Westminster apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Several Norsemen players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jose Jaimes, who scored 11 points. Jonathan Hernandez was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Even though they lost, Northglenn smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Westminster got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hunter Goll out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. Goll is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Daigan Gray, who scored 19 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Northglenn and nudges their season record down to 6-6. As for Westminster, their win bumped their record up to 3-9.
Northglenn won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Prairie View at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Prairie View is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Westminster, they will head out on the road to take on Eagle Ridge Academy at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
