The Phillipsburg Stateliners will venture away from home to  take on the Delaware Valley Terriers  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
On Saturday, Phillipsburg needed a bit of extra time to put away Ewing. They narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  team sidled past the Blue Devils  9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Stateliners have posted  since April 30, 2024.
Meanwhile,  it was close, but  on Thursday Delaware Valley sidestepped Mount St. Mary Academy for  a  2-1 victory. That's two games straight that the Terriers have won by  just one  run.
 Grace Slack spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits.
 On the hitting side,  Brooklyn Liskowacki was  excellent,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Delaware Valley has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3  runs this season. As for Phillipsburg, their  victory (their first of the  season) made their record 1-2.
 Phillipsburg beat Delaware Valley 10-6  when the teams last played  back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Stateliners since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
