The Richardson Eagles won the last time they faced the Nimitz Vikings, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Richardson walked away with a 46-34 win over Nimitz. Given Richardson's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while Nimitz is ranked 883rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Richardson found their leader in underclassman Ma'Kayla Carr, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Carr is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Aldridge, who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.
Richardson pushed their record up to 18-13 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Nimitz, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-17.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richardson will take on MacArthur at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Nimitz will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Highland Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
