The Greenville Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their tenth straight loss. They were outmatched by Yazoo City at home and fell 54-24. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Greenville has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Greenville still got an impressive performance from Gymanuel Wells, who scored eight points. Kolbie Williams was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Greenville struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Greenville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Yazoo City, their win bumped their record up to 23-4.
Greenville will head out on the road to square off against the Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Gentry is on a three-game streak of home losses, the Hornets a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Yazoo City will take on the Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Holmes County Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while the Indians are ranked third).
