Softball Recap: Northern Durham Drops Season-High Score on Hillside

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northern Durham). They blew past the Hillside Hornets 19-2 on Tuesday. With that win, the Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.

Northern Durham got a massive performance out of Lainey Stutts, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Stutts a new career-high. AnnaClaire Spell also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Northern Durham always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Northern Durham's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12. As for Hillside, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Northern Durham didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 15-3 defeat against Vance Charter on the 23rd. As for Hillside, they have also already played their next contest, a 17-6 win against Southeast Raleigh on the 24th.
