NYOS Charter has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Meridian Lions at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but NYOS Charter had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lions 60-31 at home. NYOS Charter has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 21 points or more this season.
NYOS Charter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Colin Shelton, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Shelton scored 15 or more points. Trey Huff was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.
NYOS Charter pushed their record up to 17-5 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.6 points per game. As for Meridian, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.
Everything came up roses for NYOS Charter against the Lions when the teams last played on Thursday as the squad secured a 60-31 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for NYOS Charter since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
