The Liberty Baptist Academy Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Sandy Valley, falling 69-38. Liberty Baptist Academy found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post seven fewer assists than your opponent.
Liberty Baptist Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ryan Campbell, who scored 11 points along with three steals. Campbell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Isaiah Duran was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Sandy Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Christopher LeClair out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points LeClair has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Damion Turner, who scored 15 points along with eight assists and five rebounds.
Liberty Baptist Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Sandy Valley, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Pahranagat Valley the next time they take the court. Liberty Baptist Academy will host the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Sidewinders will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
