The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lakeside in their matchups with Edgewood: they've now lost six in a row.
Edgewood was led to victory by Avery Vencill and Katie Mccollister. Vencill scored 11 points along with seven assists and four steals, while Mccollister scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Mccollister hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Leigha Guyton, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Lakeside's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-15. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.0 points per game. As for Edgewood, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeside will take on Harvey at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Harvey is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Edgewood, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Perry at 6:15 p.m. Perry will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 240th, while Edgewood is ranked 84th).
