Guilford Home Educators suffered their biggest defeat since November 17, 2023 on Tuesday. They were the victim of a rough 84-61 loss at the hands of Shining Light Academy. While losing is never fun, Guilford Home Educators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 542nd, while Shining Light Academy is ranked 186th).
Meanwhile, Chatham HomeSchool waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against Oak Forest by a score of 71-60.
Chatham HomeSchool's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Luke Coletta, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Coletta has scored all season. Zach Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with seven rebounds.
Guilford Home Educators has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Chatham HomeSchool, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.
Guilford Home Educators suffered a grim 88-67 defeat to Chatham HomeSchool in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Guilford Home Educators avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
