With a playoff game on the line, the Mott Corsairs rose to the challenge on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 40-19 margin over Carlson. The win was familiar territory for Mott who now have four in a row.
Kalieb Osborne was his usual excellent self, throwing for 240 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt, and also punching in two touchdowns on the ground.
Several Marauders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joe Krolak, who rushed for 64 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 139 yards and a touchdown. Izaiah Wright was another key contributor, rushing for 138 yards and a touchdown.
Mott pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.0 points per game. As for Carlson, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-2.
Mott is on the road again on Saturday and play against De La Salle Collegiate at 1:00 p.m. on November 18th. De La Salle Collegiate is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Carlson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
