North Central is 1-7 against Antwerp since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The North Central Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Antwerp Archers at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though North Central has not done well against Swanton recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The stars were shining brightly for North Central in a 62-43 win over Swanton. The win was just what North Central needed coming off of a 61-41 defeat in their prior game.
North Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joe Burt, who scored 16 points along with five assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Burt has scored at least 25% of North Central's points. Cohen Meyers was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Antwerp had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They strolled past Continental with points to spare, taking the game 57-40.
The victory got North Central back to even at 2-2. As for Antwerp, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
North Central suffered a grim 68-47 defeat to Antwerp in their previous matchup back in January. Can North Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
