In what's become a running theme this season, the El Paso Tigers gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 58-38 margin over Canutillo. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory El Paso has posted against Canutillo since January 8, 2019.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead El Paso to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amaris Ambriz, who scored 21 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Ambriz has scored at least a third of El Paso's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalia Thomas, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
El Paso's victory bumped their record up to 19-7. As for Canutillo, their loss dropped their record down to 16-8.
El Paso the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Andress at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Canutillo, they will head out on the road to take on Burges at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Burges is coming into the match hot, having won their last 12 games.
